HOW IT WORKS

Our programs help participants overcome financial barriers with savings and credit-building opportunities. When bank loans aren’t options and friends and family can’t help, our programs step in and create a pathway into the financial system.

WE START WITH EDUCATION

All participants take our online financial training class before enrolling in our programs. Participants choose the topics that are most relevant to their lives, learning how to take charge of their personal finances and their future.

THEN, WE PROVIDE REAL OPPORTUNITIES

Financial education is important because it empowers people to make the financial system work for them. But it’s not enough. They also need real opportunities to save and build credit to truly increase their financial capability.

AND WE NEVER STOP LEARNING

We’re always on the lookout for new ways to help low-income consumers build credit and better lives. We pilot new programs right in our own backyard before rolling them out nationwide.

OUR PROGRAMS

LENDING CIRCLES

People around the world lend and borrow with each other when bank loans aren’t an option. With technology and credit reporting, MAF transforms this traditional practice to help borrowers access affordable loans, build a credit history, and brighten their futures.

LENDING CIRCLES FOR DREAMERS

DREAMers now have an affordable way to finance the cost of applying for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). Eligible DREAMers make affordable monthly payments for 10 months, while also building their credit history.

LENDING CIRCLES FOR CITIZENSHIP

U.S. citizenship opens doors. Eligible applicants now have an affordable way to finance the cost of applying for citizenship. Participants make affordable monthly payments for 10 months while building a credit history.
